Madera County, CA – On the morning of Sunday, January 4, 2026, a man died after a rollover crash along Highway 41 near Yosemite Lakes, according to KSEE.
The California Highway Patrol officers reported that the collision occurred at approximately 6:30 AM north of Yosemite Springs Parkway. The crash involved a Ford Mustang traveling northbound at the time of the incident.
According to CHP, a preliminary investigation determined that the driver entered a right-hand curve. The car veered to the right for unknown reason and entered a narrow dirt shoulder adjacent to the roadway.
Investigators said the vehicle then left the roadway entirely and struck several large rocks as the shoulder transitioned into a steep embankment. The impact caused the Ford Mustang to roll multiple times, during which the vehicle became airborne before coming to rest on its roof.
The driver was conscious but trapped inside the vehicle following the crash. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and worked to extricate the driver while providing medical aid.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. CHP confirmed that he later died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Officers documented the scene and coordinated with emergency responders as part of standard investigative procedures. No additional details regarding contributing factors were immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
